George Cruikshank's Omnibus [with signature of Cruikshank, 1847]

London: Tilt and Bogue, 1842. 1st ed. thus, half leather binding with marbled sides, spine with raised bands and decorated and lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, a.e.g., author portrait frontis plate, pp 300. Illustrated with one hundred engravings on steel and wood, including "Jack O'Lantern" and Kangaroo dance. With signed presentation inscription dated 1848 tipped in to reverse of frontis (see image). Some foxing (mainly to the early pages) and toning, lightly rubbed to edges. Very good condition.

Collection of the work of the celebrarted artist and caricaturist. Includes chapter: "First Discovery of Van Demon's Land". First edition in book form. Item #99052
