Venice: Typographia Balleoniana, 1741. 1st ed. thus, quarto, 3 Vols, including Concordance volume, full-page engraved frontispiece of angels, symbols and the four Evangelists in first volume only (as called for). Both title pages of Bible with the copperplate engraved vignette of putto on clouds and b&w woodcuts throughout, title page printed in red and black in first volume. Text in two columns in Bible volumes. The three volumes bound uniformly in full calf, gilt decorated spines with five raised bands and red leather titled labels. 19th century ownership in ink to title pages of all three volumes "R. Atherton, April 1883" and small armorial label laid onto title page of volume one and two, very good condn.
This esteemed Venetian press, Typographia Balleoniana, was well regarded for their printing of finely produced religious works. Item #96272
