About the Bookbinder :

Andy Haycock was first apprenticed as a bookbinder at the well-known bindery of Bayntun-Riviere in Bath, UK., founded in 1829 by George Bayntun, specializing in fine bindings and restorations.  Later Haycock was a founder of “Cottage Bindery” in Bath. He has restored and bound books for antiquarian booksellers, significant and important libraries and private collectors throughout the world including the Queen Mother and Prince Charles, restoring and rebinding some 300 botanical and gardening books.  He has also restored individual rare books including a Gutenberg Bible printed in 1454, the first book to be published in Western Europe using movable metal type. Since moving to Western Australia, Haycock works exclusively for Muir Books - Perth Bookbinding & Restoration
