The first printing establishment was set up in Lyon in 1472, and quickly became one of the most important printing and publishing centres in Europe with its prestigious print shops, bookbinders and booksellers. Baudrier's 'Bibliographie Lyonnaise' is a bibliography of books published in the 16th century and a history of the press at Lyon. Includes trade marks of the publishers, booksellers and bookbinders of that period. These nine volumes (of thirteen) are illustrated with a large number of fold out plates. An important reference for the literary and scientific history of the sixteenth century, not only for that of Lyon but for the whole of Europe.
