Marcus Manilius (fl.1st century AD) was a Roman poet, astrologer, and author of a poem in five books called Astronomica. Housman's critical edition of the poet's 'Astronomica' is regarded as the definitive work on the subject. This volume contains the Latin text of the third book of Manilius, first published in 1916, and here reissued in a second edition, including a short note by A.S.F. Gow regarding the alterations, as well as a preface by Housman in which he discusses the astrological content of the work and notes the errors and misinterpretations of previous editors. Item #94620
