Ypres: 1919. Book of ten b&w photographic views of the cemeteries of Ypres (printed photogravure souvenir cards) in book as issued, decorated wraps, 14 cm x 19 cm. Each with tissue guard. Annotation on front wrap: "Visited in 1919". Closed tears to yapp edges, corners of wraps bent, internally in very good condn.

The town of Ypres in Belgium was a key battleground in WWI. There were nearly half a million casualties during the Third Battle of Ypres alone. The cemeteries shown here are: two different views of Ypres-Zillebeke, "Bedford House"; the "British Cemetery" in the grounds of the Potyse Chateau; "Transport Farm" cemetery; "Oxford Road"; "Duhallow", Route de Boesinghe; "New Frish Farm" (presumably a misprint for "New Irish Farm" cemetery); Perth (China Wall); Blauwpoort Farm.
