Parry's journal of the second of his three attempts to discover the northwest passage. He sailed through the Hudson Strait into the Foxe Basin and reached the Fury and Hecla Strait (named after his ships) between Baffin Island and the Melville Peninsula. Besides journal entries, the narrative contains an explanation of technical terms, charts from the meteorological tables, tide tables, and chapters on the Eskimo culture and language.
