Austin Osman Spare (1886-1956) was an English artist, philosopher and occultist. Kenneth Grant was a fellow occultist, and with his wife Steffi became friends with Spare in 1949. "Zos Speaks!" is an account of their meetings with Spare, and contains numerous letters of the period, providing details of Spare's magic system. They give a unique insight into his methods of working with Familiar Spirits, 'Delphoc Oracles', and the formulae of the 'Witches Sabbath'. The book presents an extensive collection of Spare's final, lost writings, including The Logomacy and The Zoetic Grimoire, and is richly illustrated with his paintings and drawings. Grant became Spare's literary executor, and published works on magic, weird art, and related topics. "Zos Speaks!" is arguably the magnum opus on the strange and magical life and work of Austin Osman Spare. Item #106599
