Tokyo: Kanehara Shuppan, 1972. 38 colour plates mounted on stiff black card. The plates fold out together, accordion-style. In original blue cloth case with gilt lettering. Fine condition. Includes 9 page booklet, "The Series of Plates designed as a Test for Colour-Blindness" by Dr. Ishihara, loosely inserted in the rear pocket. The booklet has a hospital library stamp. The set itself is in fine condition.
Dr. Shinobu Ishihara (1879 - 1963) was a Japanese ophthalmologist who created the Ishihara color test to detect colour blindness. A beautifully printed series of plates with a variety of colour dots and patterns, in excellent condition. Item #106350
