(Some editions include an illustration of an inhaler for "fumigation" (p. 215), not present here.) Previous owner's inscription in contemporary hand front endpaper and title page. Near-fine condition.

An important treatise on tuberculosis and other forms of wasting disease, originally published in Latin in 1654: this is the first edition to be translated into English. The book deals extensively wih the pathology of consumption, with a second section on treatments for patients. Christopher Bennet (1617-1655) was an English physician; ironically he died of tuberculosis himself, at the age of thirty-eight. Item #106074
