The last volume (not including the index) of the third edition of "The Golden Bough", a wide-ranging, comparative study of mythology and religion, which was first published as two volumes in 1890 and was greatly expanded by the time of this third edition in 1923. This volume discusses fire festivals, the external soul in folktales, and the significance of mistletoe in the death of the Norse god Baldr. There are also some references to Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. Item #105948
