Sir Thomas More (1478 – 1535), was an English lawyer, judge, social philosopher, author, statesman, theologian, and noted Renaissance humanist. "Utopia" is More's satirical work depicting a fictional island society and its religious, social and political customs. It was first published (in Latin) in Leuven in 1516. "A Dialogue of Comfort against Tribulation" was written by More while imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1534, the year before his execution: it is both a spiritual reflection and a work of political thought. This edition republishes J.M. Dent's 1910 edition which includes an introduction by Judge John O'Hagan. Item #105659
