Pride and Prejudice
London: Grant Richards, 1898. 1st thus, two volumes, octavo, original green cloth binding with gilt-stamped lettering and decoration (an Art Nouveau-style pattern of vines and leaves). Top edge gilt, fore-edge untrimmed. A decorative vignette with Jane Austen's initials printed both title pages. Both volumes have a middle section (approx. 100 pages) of worm holes to the edges , ranging in size from one millimetre to just over one centimetre, at the bottom edge of the page (and in a smaller section in volume I also to the side). The books have wide margins and the worm holes are in no place close to affecting the text (see image). Spines bumped to head and foot and lightly faded, very small fray to head of volume II. Boards lightly, evenly sunned. A very good set.

First editions of the celebrated Winchester edition published by Grant Richards: volumes III and IV of this edition, complete thus.
