Octavo, half-leather binding with title stamped in gilt to spine, marbled endpapers, all edges marbled, vignette of the Swedenborg Society printed at top of the Contents page. "A Hieroglyphic Key..." published by William Newbery, London 1847, pp xv, 44, trans. Wilkinson "On the Divine Love" is published by the Swedenborg Society, London 1864, pp 86, no translator stated. Small areas of loss of cloth rear board, some light rubbing. Previous owner's bookplate front endpaper (Claude Toby). Spotting to the inner blank endpapers (next to marbled eps). Very good condition.

"On the Divine Love..." is reprinted from Swedenborg's muli-volume "Apocalypse Explained". Of "A Hieroglyphic Key..." the translator writes: "it belongs to the same period of Swedenborg's life with 'the Economy of the Animal Kingdom', 'Animal Kigdom', and 'Worship and Love of God' and [it] was written with the view of [...] embracing the circle of the higher sciences, as the pathway whereby the human mind may approach to a knowledge of the soul."
