"Anarchy" was an anarchist monthly magazine produced in London from March 1961 until December 1970. (Early issues were issued with the subtitle "a journal of anarchist ideas".) It was edited by its founder, Colin Ward, the leading British anarchist writer and a pioneering social historian. The journal was known for its articles on anarchism and reflections on current events from an anarchist perspective, e.g. workers control, criminology, colonialism, squatting, education. It published many important writers. "Anarchy" is generally considered the best anarchist serial of its day for both interesting content and quality of production (including distinctive art and design by the anarchist and illustrator Rufus Segar). "Anarchy" was an important distributor of radical ideas, and remains of great interest for those interested in anarchism, political theory, and political praxis. Item #104234
