Discussion of the colonies (of the then British Empire) and the idea of combining them as a federation. Henry Mortimer Franklyn (1848?-1900) was a newspaper proprietor and journalist. In 1881 he founded and edited the Federal Australian, a weekly newspaper published in Melbourne, based on the idea of intercolonial unity. Item #103111
