Third printing of the firsr one volume edition, cloth boards. title and signature blindstamped upper board, lettered in gilt spine. top edge gilt, folding maps with colour details, b&w plates, pp xxii, 601. Signed by Lord Roberts beneath the author frontis plate, dated "13.3.12" March 1912: the ink has smudged slightly, including a small mark on the facing tissue guard. Restored: original cloth of the spine relaid over new matching cloth. Corners lightly bumped and rubbed. Very good condition.
