Includes "The Regulations and Laws in force for the renting or leasing of timbered lands" and a "Report on the Forest Resources of the Colony" (published 1879) by Baron Ferdinand von Mueller. Quarto, original cloth boards with original printed title label upper board, blindstamped border rules boards. Frontis map with colour detail, large folding colour map, two plates with colour detail tinting (illustrating jarrah and karri) pp 27, i, i, i, i, 30, and 20 b&w illustrated plates, some staining to upper cnrs not affecting images. Professionally restored with original cloth laid over new cloth spine. Previous owner's signature front free endpaper. Closed tear to large map, repaired. Very good condition. Scarce.

Report on the West Australian timber trade, including an 1879 report by the botanist Ferdinand von Mueller praising the size and significance of the south-west's jarrah "which for the durability of its timber is unsurpassed by any kind of tree in any portion of the globe".
