Stalky's Reminiscences

London: Jonathan Cape, 1928. 8vo, pp. 298, b/w frontis portrait, previous owner's inscription and stamp front free endpaper, original red cloth boards, small splits head and tail spine and cloth frayed, 1cm split rear joint, lightly scuffed and few minor marks, cnrs worn.

The author was apparently the inspiration for Kipling's 'Stalky'. He was commisioned into the army in 1884 and during WWI led an Allied force across present-day Iraq. Item #85245
